25-year-old is criticized by a former Liverpool player, who claims that he is "way off" from being good enough for Jurgen Klopp's team

Nat Phillips is "far from" being talented enough to play for the Reds, according to former Liverpool player Danny Murphy.

Recent news indicates that Virgil van Dijk's injury forced him to be replaced at halftime against Brentford, which is bad news for Liverpool supporters. Van Dijk's injury, according to a recent report from Paul Joyce, might keep him out for a while, leaving Liverpool without many choices in the back.

In response to a question about whether Phillips could fill in for Van Dijk, Murphy responded on talkSPORT.

To be honest, I believe Nat Phillips is way off, stated Murphy.

He has a point, to be fair. Nat Phillips is not world class by any stretch, and has put in average performances the majority of the time he is strutting his stuff in a Liverpool shirt. He can be good for a short period, but he is not a sustainable top centre back
