The 2023 Gift Responsibly Campaign is an international initiative by 66 lotteries and 84 community organizations to address the risks related to underage gambling.
The International Centre for Youth Gambling Problems and High-Risk Behaviours at McGill University, in partnership with the National Council on Problem Gambling, are spearheading this campaign to draw attention to the risks associated with giving lottery tickets to kids for the holidays.
The participating organizations will use a range of channels to spread the word that lottery products are inappropriate presents for young people, including social media, digital advertising, in-store messaging, and retailer training.
