Under the countrywide Op Soga IX from November 19 to December 21, police detained 690 people for alleged links in gambling and betting upon that 2022 FIFA World Cup football games.
All people detained were either bookmakers or gamblers, according to PDRM, and the issue is being looked into in accordance with the Betting Act of 1953 and the Common Gambling Houses Act of 1953.
She continued by saying that 530 inquiry documents had been opened during that time, of which 202 were followed up on, and 87 other individuals had been charged and found guilty.
