$70million Powerball winner says lottery winners should choose to be anonymous

A Michigan Powerball jackpot winner who won $70 million in 2020 has come forward to support the idea that lottery winners should have the option of choosing to stay anonymous.

The $70 million Powerball jackpot winner is adamant that legislation be implemented to allow lottery winners to claim a prize without disclosing their names based on her personal experiences.

According to Michigan state law, lottery winners who win more than $10,000 in local, intrastate games are permitted to collect their winnings without disclosing their identities, but those who win in multistate competitions like Mega Millions, Powerball, and Lucky for Life are not permitted to do so.
