A $1.7 billion casino resort is coming to West Town in Chicago.

Bally's Chicago, a brand-new $1.7 entertainment complex in West Town, has received approval from the city council of Chicago.

A 500-room hotel, 11 pubs and restaurants, an event center, and a theater are planned for it. The complex will also include a casino with 3,400 slot machines and 170 table games, making it one of the biggest gaming establishments in the state right away.

The Chicago Department of Planning and Development voted 39 to 5 on Monday in support of approving Bally's Corporation's request to start building a casino resort in West Town's commercial district. The historic Chicago Tribune printing factory is where the site is actually located.
