A "builder" defrauded homeowners of £1 million and demolished properties to support a gambling habit.

The 38-year-old Richard Nicholls left his targets with incomplete extensions and performed subpar home maintenance work before demanding payment.
After the deception left several victims without a place to live and had depleted their entire savings, he has now served three years in prison.
