A charity is urging football players to take a stand against the link between gambling and football.

An organization has urged professional soccer players to take a position against the betting sector's ties with the sport. Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali and striker Nicolo Zaniolo, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa from Galatasaray, recently went back to their clubs from Italy's training camp following the revelation that they were being investigated by the Italian Prosecutor's Office and Italian Football Federation for involvement in illicit gambling.

Although gambling addiction is a problem in society as a whole and in other sports, the organization asserts that it is especially widespread in football and has requested governmental action to tackle the issue.
