A Dutch MP wants to make online gambling illegal once more.

CDA Representative Anne Kuik, a member of the parliament, is currently engaged in drafting legislation that aims to put an end to the lawful practice of internet betting in the Netherlands. She has expressed her concern regarding the potential dangers of financial indebtedness and addiction among the younger generation, and she condemns online gambling corporations for prioritizing profit above the welfare of players. The legalization of online gambling in the Netherlands took effect in October 2021, subsequent to the approval of the Remote Gambling Act, following several years of political deliberations. As per data provided by the Gambling Authority, the industry witnessed a massive surge in growth, with more than one in every twenty Dutch citizens participating in internet betting on authorized platforms during the previous year.
