A lady from Edmonton has won the $35 million Lotto Max prize.

A lady from Edmonton won the Lotto Max prize of $35 million, making her the city's fourth-largest winner ever.According to a news release issued Friday, Ruth Bowes shared the $70 million prize on July 25 with another individual ticket sold in British Columbia. Bowes, who plays Lotto Max anytime there are Maxmillions rewards available, says she "far exceeded her dreams" of winning 1 of the million-dollar awards.Bowes first believed she had won the entire $70 million prize and told her husband before realizing the cash had been split among two tickets.

Why does she have to share the money with someone else? Did they buy the same ticket together? It seems unfair that their big prize gets split if they played separately. 35 million is a lot of money, but 70 million is much better.
