A recent survey in Buenos Aires revealed that 24% of secondary school students engage in online gambling, with 8.8% of them betting frequently. The study, conducted by the Defensoría del Pueblo, also found that the behavior spans all socioeconomic classes. The most common gambling preferences are casino games (47.8%) and sports betting (32.3%). The findings raise concerns about the addictive nature of online betting, with many teens reporting difficulties stopping once they start. The city has started preventive measures, including contacting banks and financial services to restrict minors' access to gambling
