A study by the National University of Tres de Febrero (UNTREF) highlights the rising concern over problematic online gambling among young people. During a training session with high school teachers, Nora Cadenas, from the Argentine Drug Policies Secretariat, emphasized the similarities between online gambling addiction and substance abuse. The increasing accessibility of online gambling through smartphones and social media ads has made young people more vulnerable. A survey found that 34% of high school students engage in online betting regularly, often facilitated by their parents' credit card information.
