Advertising ban and public health response required to tackle gambling harm

In a new report, the Grattan Institute calls for a public health response to a national gambling crisis that sees more pokies than ATMs in many Australian suburbs. The report suggests that health ministers, not industry ministers, should be in charge of providing gambling treatment and support services.

It also advocates for a complete ban on gambling advertising, mandatory pre-commitment systems for online gaming and pokies, and a loss cap.

This should be done to support such things and reduce the growth of gambling based activities in the suburbs of the country such things are always needed to be implemented actually indeed for sure
