After a 'betting probe,' Italy's Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Zaniolo were withdrawn from the national squad ahead of the England encounter.

Two Italian individuals have been excluded from their country's squad following a purported investigation into gambling activities involving the individuals. Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United and Nicolo Zaniolo from Aston Villa will both be absent from the team's forthcoming matches against Malta and England, as stated by the Italian football federation (FIGC). The FIGC did not disclose the nature of the investigation concerning the duo, but mentioned that the midfielders would not be mentally prepared to participate in the upcoming fixtures.
