After failing to reach an agreement by the Tuesday deadline, Detroit casino workers went on strike.

Following the expiration of the deadline on Tuesday, casino employees in Detroit initiated a strike. Today, thousands of unionized casino workers went on strike after failing to come to a new labor agreement with the three casinos in Detroit before the noon deadline on Tuesday. The Detroit Casino Council, which speaks for 3,700 casino staff members from five different unions, declined the proposal put forth by MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Hollywood at Greektown on Tuesday morning.
