After using savings to pay for his daughter's cancer treatment, a Florida lottery winner wins $2 million.

Sunshine State lottery authorities revealed last week that Geraldine Gimblet of Lakeland won a $2 million scratch-off prize. Gimblet's fortune came through the lottery's "$2,000,000 Bonus CASHWORD Scratch-Off" game, which offers 20 second-tier rewards of $100K and eight top prizes of $2 million each. One in more than 2.85 million people have a chance of winning one of the $2 million rewards.
Gimblet chose to pay the one-time cash sum of roughly $1,645,000 instead. The Florida Lottery reports that there are three $2 million prizes left in the game's current print run after Gimblet's $2 million CASHWORD redemption.
Every day, lottery players all throughout the country take home life-changing winnings. But Gimblet's tale stands out since her victory followed a significant life event by just a few hours.
