Alabama tribal casino bill to include sports betting and lottery

Legislators in Alabama are expected to present legislation next month to allow tribal casinos with slot machines and table games to become part of the state's gaming industry. There will be a state-run lottery and sports betting included in the gaming package.

Legislators in Alabama who support the gaming movement also want to legalize state-run lotteries and sports betting both offline and online.

The provision of sports betting privileges would enable commercial operators to submit applications for online licenses. The Alabama Gaming Commission, a recently established state organization, would handle applications, grant licenses, and oversee sportsbook operations.
