Since they have long been division rivals, these two teams have a history. The Ducks benefit from the familiarity of being in the same division. It gives them a competitive advantage over occasionally inferior Eastern teams. Will it be sufficient for the Ducks to pull off an upset in this game? Most likely not. However, it will enable Anaheim to generate more offensive opportunities than a lower-tier Western team could. Despite the fact that these teams have a rich history, the Oilers are currently playing so well that they are capable of defeating any team in the league. They won't even have to contend with Anaheim.
