Another betting scandal rocks Brazilian football

This week, local media sites claimed that the Sao Paulo Football Federation (FPF, for short in Portuguese) and regional police are hard at work against soccer match-fixing. They think a well-organized gang is trying to get athletes to rig the outcomes of the games so they may win at betting. Both groups became aware of two cases, both in Copinha. A rumored bettor attempted to alter specific features of two games during round two of the San Pablo Junior Soccer Cup by going straight to the source. He apparently simply tried to affect the corners, not the results of the games. In both cases, the participants informed their teams of the bettor's suggestions, who then disseminated the attempts to the federation.
