Another Nebraska casino proposed despite gaming expansion being under threat

The number of operators hoping to secure a future stake in Nebraska's casino industry is growing.

Casino gaming was legalized in Nebraska by voters in 2020. At that point, they decided to change the state constitution to permit businesses to operate casinos at the six racetracks that have licenses.

Furthermore, new casino developments were made possible by the new law. However, in order to compete in the potentially lucrative casino sector, an operator must also provide live horse racing, albeit a less profitable venture. This implies that they will have to construct or buy a racetrack and obtain a state racing license.
