The belief that $50 bills are bad luck in gambling might be due to superstitions or cultural associations. Sometimes, people associate certain numbers or denominations with bad luck based on folklore or personal experiences. However, there is no inherent reason for a specific bill denomination to bring bad luck in gambling. It's important to remember that luck in gambling is based on chance and probability, rather than the physical form of currency.

In some cultures, the number 50 may be seen as unlucky or associated with negative connotations. For example, in Chinese culture, the number four is considered unlucky because the pronunciation of "four" sounds similar to the word for "death." Therefore, people might avoid using any bills with a denomination that includes the number four, such as $40 or $400, as well as bills that add up to a multiple of four, like four $10 bills. It is possible that this belief has extended to $50 bills because it includes the number five which, when combined with four, could be seen as a multiple of four.

Superstitions can play a significant role in gambling, as many people try to find ways to influence their luck or avoid bad fortune. Some people may believe that using certain denominations of bills could attract bad luck or increase the chances of losing. However, these beliefs are based on personal experiences or cultural customs rather than any verifiable evidence.

Ultimately, the idea that $50 bills are bad luck in gambling is a superstition and not supported by any rational or logical explanation. Luck in gambling is determined by chance, probability, and the specific game or strategy being employed. The denomination of the bills used has no impact on the outcome of the game.

I don't believe in luck whether good or bad. If a gambler believe that $50 bill is bad luck in gambling, that should be his business. I don't go to gamble with superstitious believe. I believe that most gamblers are using superstitious believe to boost their confidence in gambling. Whatever it is, it is their business.

All these kinds of beliefs don't hold water and cannot be proven to be true. If it ever happens, it is pure coincidence. I have seen so many people that have staked with $50 bills and still won big. I don't subscribe to fetish beliefs in gambling.
