There are different types of laws on taxation regarding the jackpot and lottery winnings in United States.

One of the questions I want to ask some of you guys over here is that Are lottery winnings subject to inheritance tax? I believe those of you who are living in United State will be able to give me the right answer to this question. Thanks in advance.

In the United States, lottery winnings are considered ordinary income, and they are therefore subject to both federal and state income taxes. However, the money is not subject to inheritance tax.
