Arkansas woman jailed for stealing $300,000 to fuel gambling addiction

It was claimed that a bank teller's gambling addiction and mental health issues only partially justified her conduct after she stole $300k from the Premier Bank of Arkansas. She received a federal jail term of one year, one day. On December 22, 2020, she was let off from the bank after an internal audit showed a $200K funding gap a month earlier.

An additional $94K was missing, according to a subsequent inquiry of teller drawers and recycling machines, which provide cash to tellers similarly to how an ATM provides cash to bank customers.
