As igaming returns, a key Brazilian vote supports sports betting.

Brazil Chamber of Deputies approved changes to Bill 3626/23 regulating online sports betting.

The Senate Plenary had excluded online casinos, but the Chamber reinstated them emphasizing the need for regulation to prevent issues like money laundering.

The sports betting tax rate was reduced to 12% from 18%. The regulation aims to address the government's budget deficit concerns and awaits President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silvas signature.
