ATG issues a warning about the extent of unlicensed gambling in Sweden.

The Swedish horseracing betting operator, also known as ATG, has issued a cautionary statement regarding a significant surge in traffic towards unlicensed gambling platforms. According to ATG, the rate of traffic has skyrocketed by tenfold since the launch of Sweden's regulated gambling market in 2019. In their research, ATG discovered that the channelisation rates for regulated online gambling as a whole were between 70 and 82 percent during the third quarter.

As for online sports betting, the channelisation rate reached a commendable 88 percent, while online casino games stood at 74 percent. These statistics are based on the assumption that the average amount spent per visit on unlicensed sites is ten times higher than on licensed platforms. Estimations made by ATG indicate that the unlicensed gambling market's value ranges from SEK3.4bn to SEK6.7bn (€585.6m) annually.

ATG further revealed that Infiniza Limited and North Point Management Ltd accounted for a staggering 60 percent of illegal gambling traffic during the third quarter.
