Atlantic City casino smoking opponents form political committee

By establishing a political action committee, opponents of smoking in Atlantic Casinos are strengthening their lobbying efforts and influence in New Jersey.

The announcement follows a reversal in support of legislation by Trenton state lawmakers to compel the nine casinos in Atlantic City to implement smoke-free policies.

As of right now, casinos are allowed to set aside 25% of their gaming floor for tobacco use. Members in opposition claim it is long overdue that they, like almost all other New Jersey workers, have access to clean indoor workspaces.
