Atlantic City receives $1million to enhance safety in area amidst concerns by casino industry

The state has given Atlantic City almost $1.4 million to buy and set up 120 automated license plate readers. The streets of Atlantic City are kept safe by law enforcement with the help of technology.


The casino industry in Atlantic City has been pleading with the state and local governments to strengthen security for the gambling beach town in recent years. Casino executives claim that even the simplest security measures, like changing the bulbs in street lights that have burned out, have taken far longer than they should have.
