August saw a post-pandemic record high for Macau's gambling tax haul.

Macau's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) revealed that tax revenues from casinos reached an impressive MOP$6.44 billion in August. This represents a noteworthy 9.5% surge compared to the previous month's collections and stands as the highest monthly tax revenue figure since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Interesting to see such a big surge from July. Macau clearly retains its appeal as a gaming destination even during uncertain times. While volatility may continue, the fundamentals seem solid for casinos there to have a prosperous future.
