Aurora City Council approves tax increment financing for new casino site

Penn Entertainment will be able to use property tax revenue to partially finance the $360 million project as the Aurora City Council has approved a tax increment financing district for the Hollywood Aurora Casino's new location.

Located across from the Chicago Premium Outlets mall, the new casino will be situated on the northeastern side of the city.

The school district will receive a portion of the anticipated annual increase in property taxes in exchange for the representative voting in favor of the tax increment financing.
