Following multiple instances of minors placing bets, the Victorian state gambling watchdog in Australia ordered Tabcorp Holdings Ltd. to eliminate cash from the majority of its electronic betting terminals.
According to a statement released on Sunday, Tabcorp's betting terminals will not be able to take cash bets unless they are five meters away and within line of sight of the counter in a gambling establishment, per a statewide directive issued by the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission.
About 70% of Tabcorp's 1,800 terminals in Victoria will only accept vouchers purchased following age and identity verification at a counter as of later this month.
