Australia national team player among those arrested in football betting scandal

Three A-League players have allegedly been arrested in connection with an alleged betting scandal, including Clayton Lewis, an midfielder.

According to Australian media, Ulises Dávila, a former captain of the Phoenix, and midfielder Kearyn Baccus were arrested alongside Lewis, who currently plays for Macarthur in Sydney.


An investigation into the purported gambling-related manipulation of yellow cards during football games was opened by the NSW Police Organized Crime Squad Gaming Unit.
