Australian Broadcasters React Unfavorably to Tabcorp's Plan to Ban Peak-Time Advertising

Tabcorp, an Australian bookmaker, has announced that it will gradually stop running advertisements for its online casino games between the hours of 6.30 am and 8.30 pm. Tabcorp has also called for additional regulations to further restrict ads during these hours.
Media programmers disagree and assert that additional limitations will reduce income and, as a result, limit the services they can offer, according to submissions presented to a federal parliamentary study investigating gambling.
The new Labor administration has started to impose additional limitations on gambling advertising in an effort to lessen the damages associated with compulsive gambling, thus broadcasters and gambling corporations are already under scrutiny.
