The Australian Football League (AFL) is changing its employee betting policy. The days of retaining office betting pools or perhaps even wagers for a cup of coffee or a beer are long gone. The AFL notified Australian media organizations on Friday that it is prohibiting some staff members from betting on the league. Anyone in the AFL's football department, including umpires, is prohibited from betting. Participating in survivor pools, also affectionately known as tipping competitions, is one example. As stated by the company, this transition aims to improve integrity and general sentiment.
