Australian football player set to appear in court over betting scandal

After being charged with taking part in a bet-fixing scheme, A-League player Kearyn Baccus is scheduled to appear in court for the first time.

This Thursday, the 32-year-old midfielder for Macarthur FC is scheduled to appear in Campbelltown Local Court on a charge of engaging in behavior that taints the outcome of an event that is being bet on.


Three Bulls players are suspected of being part of a bet-fixing syndicate; Baccus will be the first of them to appear in court.
