Australian Greens submit truce to progress gambling advertisement ban legislation

With a compromise that could result in new legislation being passed in as little as two weeks, the Australian Greens have submitted a revised proposal to the Albanese Government to further restrict gambling advertising.

The Greens suggested restricting advertisements before and after sporting events, outlawing advertisements during children's viewing hours, and outlawing gambling advertisements on the internet in a letter to the Communications Minister.

They also proposed a limit of two gambling advertisements per television show, which is consistent with a previous government position.
