ying for no good reason. Bluffing comes so natural, the truth don't always slip so easy from the lips. Constantly sizing folks up, looking for tells where there ain't none. Paranoia creeps in, everyone's been dealt a pair of deuces by the looks of 'em.
Came to think every hand's about me winning or losing their money. Them chips became my whole world, caring little for friendship or honor.
Staying up all hours, fueled by tobacco and hot air. Time loses all meaning at the poker table, awake for days on end it seems. Health and wellness take a backseat to the action. The game squeezes out God and country, family too, till there's only the call, the bet, and the next card to be seen. But the liife of a gambler ain't an easy one, that's for damn sure.
