Bally's Casino reportedly set to pay $100million for Trump golf course

In anticipation of someday developing a casino hotel there, it was earlier this month announced that the local casino operator would purchase the lease on Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point. The transaction's financial details were not made public at the time, but it was anticipated to be in the tens of millions of dollars. The transaction could be worth up to $100 million.

The Trump team reportedly feared that if negotiations dragged on much longer, the transaction would fall apart, so they settled on a figure in the neighborhood of $100 million.

The regional casino operator from Rhode Island plans to remove the Trump name from the course and keep it open until it receives a downstate casino authorization, which is not a given.

Removing the Trump name makes business sense if they want to distance the property from any controversy. Though some may still associate it with him for a while. As long as the new owners keep up the course and it remains a nice spot for golf, most people will get used to the change over time. It's all about the gambling and entertainment now if casinos do indeed get approved for downstate.
