Belize's government set to crack down on illegal gambling

The Belizean government has declared its commitment to robustly addressing the illegal sale of lotteries and jackpots. Individuals found culpable may be subjected to imprisonment for a maximum of five years and substantial fines.

The Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, and Investment, responsible for overseeing lottery regulations, released a statement indicating its awareness of multiple instances of illicit lottery sales. The ministry has expressed its readiness to take enforcement measures against such activities.
