On Monday, agents of the Central Crime Branch broke up a cricket betting ring and detained three bookmakers who were using a smartphone app to do their business.
A team searched two locations in Mahadevapura on the basis of a tip-off, apprehended the suspects, and took $10.5 lakh form them.
The accused were taking bets from online gamblers on the England and Pakistan matches. Another bookmaker managed to tip off the authorities during the raid, and search operations are currently underway to find him.
