The Berwickshire Housing Association has been able to extend its funding for its BeFriend service by a total of £175,000 for the next three years.
The BeFriend service has significantly improved the lives of lonely and isolated people over the previous 11 years. Offering in-person, group, telephone, and dementia-friendly befriending, the program has assisted over 300 senior citizens in gaining more self-assurance in their ability to live independently and in interacting with others in their communities.
