You flop top pair on the felt and take the betting lead. The turn and river give no helpers to your hand. Opponents refuse to fold even with lower pair or draw. You check, they bet. You predict thin value bets so you reluctantly throw away your top pair to their aggression. You sigh at the lost chance for chips, another bad beat on runout cards beyond your control.
