bet365 set to pay 23 Danish players for unauthorized images

23 Danish athletes will receive compensation from Bet365 for their names and images being used on social media without their permission.

The operator now owes approximately £550,000, according to a ruling by Denmark's maritime and commercial court. Christian Eriksen of Manchester United is one of these athletes.

According to Reuters, the 31-year-old midfielder received the largest award of approximately £169,600 because his image was used the most.

However, the gambling company argued that the names and images it used should be considered editorial content, which would exempt it from Danish law's payment requirements.
