Betfred set to exit Maryland sports betting market

Betfred is making the decision to leave the online and retail sports betting markets in Maryland. In a meeting of the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission, it was revealed that the British gaming company has chosen to withdraw from the state and will stop doing business by July 31. In 2022, Betfred and Long Shot's, an off-track betting establishment, partnered to operate gambling operations in Maryland. A year later, Betfred officially went live in the state after being issued an online and retail wagering license by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission. Despite losing Betfred, Maryland hopes to bring on three more operators.
