Betting and Gaming Council donated £455 million towards horseracing last year

According to estimates from the Betting and Gaming Council, its members directly invested £455 million in British horseracing last year through sponsorship, broadcast rights, and levies.

The Horserace Betting Levy Board projects that levy payments will increase from £50 million in 2016–2017 to £99 million in 2022–2023.
The BGC has pledged to give more to British horseracing currently than ever before, despite a 10.3% decline in betting turnover over the previous five years.

Due to discussions about possibly raising future levies in response to the White Paper's suggestions, the BGC is anxious to emphasize its existing contribution.
