Betting and Gaming Council supports regulatory measures on unlawful advertisements

The Betting and Gaming Council has applauded the government's recent announcement of new measures to combat illegal online advertising and better protect youngsters. Ministers also shared information on plans to set up a new taskforce to support greater industry standards, in keeping with government intentions disclosed in response to its Online Advertising Programme. The new BGC code of conduct prohibits football clubs from using their social media profiles to broadcast direct promotions on websites with betting odds that are thought to be popular with young people.
