Betting and Gaming Council welcomes Facebook gambling Ad opt-outs

The announcement that Facebook will enable users to choose not to view gambling-related advertising content on its social media platform has been warmly received by the Betting and Gaming Council.

Facebook's new advertising safeguard, which will support its members' "Industry Code for Socially Responsible Advertising," which was implemented last year, was welcomed by the trade group.

Members of the Betting and Gaming Council have adopted a stricter code for online advertising, requiring that all social media advertisements target users who are 25 years of age or older, unless the website can demonstrate that it can precisely target users who are over the age of 18.
