Betting app fined for customer's 35-hour gambling spree

A regulator fined the betting website MintBet $100,000 for letting a user gamble for extended periods of time.

The Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission said on Tuesday that the customer wagered 35 hours over roughly 50 hours in late 2022 through their online account with MintBet.

The client lost $31,149 on 327 wagers.

The bookmaker was held accountable by the commission for failing to stop the client from placing additional bets in spite of obvious signs of addiction.
