The Dutch Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) imposed a hefty fine on MKC Limited, the operator of betworld247.com, for operating unlicensed gambling activities.
The regulator found that MKC allowed games of chance without the proper license, breaking the KOA Act, the law governing Dutch gambling since October 2021.
Following an investigation, the KSA fined the company €900,000 after discovering that betworld247.com lacked sufficient technical measures to prevent Dutch customers from participating in betting, except for an IP block.
Despite not having a license, customers could easily sign up, log in, and play games of chance using their address details on the platform.
