Bill to overhaul Kentucky Horse Racing Commission vetoed by governor

A measure to restructure and corporateize the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission has been vetoed by the governor. Now, the legislation returns to the legislature, which hurriedly drafted and passed the bill late last month.

The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission was to be abolished and the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation established by the bill. The bill would also mandate that the Senate propose and approve any appointments to the commission.
