Birnbeck Pier receives $13million National Lottery grant

On its 160th anniversary, Weston-super-Mare'sGradeII listed Birnbeck Pier has received $13 million in National Lottery funding, marking a significant milestone in its preservation.

The announcement also takes place at the same time as the bicentennial celebration and the 30th anniversary of the National Lottery.

The pier's structure, which is currently on Historic England's Heritage at Risk Register, will be the main focus of the funding.
