Black market for iGaming & sports betting still thriving in the US

According to a report by the Campaign for Fairer Gambling, there are 860 unlicensed operators in the United States, while there are only 103 that are permitted. Those unlicensed businesses brought in almost $41 billion in gross gaming revenue last year, while their regulated competitors brought in $16.9 billion. A good illustration of this trend was the fact that only 35% of bets made on the 2024 Super Bowl by American bettors were made in regulated markets.
